Bathurst Seymour Centre values its workforce, both its paid staff and volunteers. It has a commitment to ensuring that each team member has up-to-date knowledge and skills to appropriately support our clients.
We want every client to receive friendly personalised support and have a great customer experience from the moment they join us and throughout their time with us.
The CEO oversees the day-to-day management of the organisation and its programs with the help of the senior team, including the Operations Manager, Finance Officer and Coordinator. Other staff assist in running the activities, providing transport to and from the Centre, administration and cooking nutritious and delicious meals for our day centre clients.
We simply couldn’t manage without our dedicated team of more than 40 volunteers.
These local people bring a vast array of life experiences and their passion in supporting older people, people with disability and their carers to live a good life.
We are always looking for people to join our volunteer team. Board of Management
Bathurst Seymour Centre is governed by a nine (9) member Board of Management. Our Board members volunteer their time, sharing their expertise in community services, business management and the law.
The Board oversees the organisation, ensuring that the Centre’s vision, values and objectives are upheld. Its most important responsibilities are to:
- approve the organisation’s policies and procedures
- set the organisation’s strategic directions
- develop and monitor the strategic and business plans
- ensure that the organization meets it legal, financial, employer and contractual responsibilities.
Board members are elected for a one-year term at the Annual General Meeting from amongst the organisation’s financial members.
Our current Board members are Julie Ann Maher (Chair), Ben Gelin (Vice Chair), John Hollis (Secretary), Peter Dodds (Treasurer), Rabiul Islam, Paul Haysom, Bronwyn Giovenco, Alison Shurmer and Dick Sappey.
We invite community members to become financial members of Bathurst Seymour Centre for a small fee. Our members are the backbone of the organisation. Their insights, suggestions and participation is welcomed through the year and at our Annual General Meeting where each year’s challenges and achievements are publically presented to the membership.
